Lawrence "Larry" Mellen

Lawrence "Larry" Mellen, 69, Lincoln, died Wednesday (8-4-10). Born (1-11-41) in Lincoln to Lilburn and Mildred (Ward) Mellen. Retired Master Mechanic, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, 35 years. Lifelong Lincoln resident. Member: United Steel Workers Union Local #286, NHRA, and a respected sponsor and speaker for Alcoholic's Anonymous.

Family members include sons, daughters-in-law, Larry and Jenni, Lincoln, Gregg and Lisa, New Prague, Minn.; grandchildren, Ally Stewart, Sharon Mellen, Emily Stewart, Brice Mellen, Josie Mellen, Christina Mellen; four great-grandchildren; brothers, sisters-in-law, Walt and Kay Mellen, Ronald and Patsy Mellen, all of Davey. Preceded in death by parents.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday (8-7-10) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 "O" St. Pastor Kerry O'Bryant officiating. Memorials to the family. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday until service time, funeral home. The family requests that those attending please wear casual attire.
